Welcome to the Faction Change page! This service lets you change a character's faction from Alliance to Horde or from Horde to Alliance. A mandatory opposite-faction race change is part of the faction change process, and the full range of customization options offered by the Character Re-Customization service is included as well. Each faction change costs $30.00 USD.
Things to know before you start:

    * The faction change process is not immediate, and a character will not be available for play while a faction change is pending. Under normal conditions the process should take under an hour, but please allow up to several days for a faction change to complete.
    * During this process, you will select a new character race from the opposite-faction races that have the character's class available. You cannot change a character's class.
    * To see how character-specific information such as achievements, reputations, and items are affected by a faction change, refer to the Translation Table.
    * A realm transfer is not included in a faction change. However, the restriction on having members of both factions on a PvP realm has been lifted, so you can have characters of both factions on a single PvP realm.
    * A character can change factions once every 60 days.
    * Not every character will be eligible to undergo a faction change. If applicable, the reason a character is not eligible will be brought to your attention before payment is rendered. For example, faction changes may not be possible on certain realms or only one "direction" of faction changes may be allowed on a given realm.
    * Please refer to the Character Faction Change FAQ for answers to common questions about this service.

A few points of interest from the FAQ ...

Will this service allow me to customize a character and select a different name once its faction has been changed?

Yes.  Each Faction Change purchase will also provide the target character with an included re-customization and optional name change.

Meaning you can change their sex as well as everything else that goes with the $15 recustomization option we already had.

What will happen to the character's non-combat pets when I change its faction?

Non-combat pets will not be affected by this process and will be available once the character's faction change completes. This even includes faction-specific non-combat pets.

I can only think of one, and that's the faerie drake thing from an alliance-only quest outside of Dire Maul. Hm.

What will happen to the character's Armory profile?

Once you have completed the Faction Change process, the character's Armory profile will be updated to reflect any faction, racial, gender, or name changes. Please note that our Armory system is still in beta at this time, so the character's profile may not immediately display the updated information.

LOL @ 'still in beta' ... hasn't the armory been out for, like, 2 years?

Can I use this service to change race on my existing faction?

No. We will be releasing a Race Change service in the near future for this purpose.

* If you own one of the discontinued epic mounts (Ivory Raptor, Ancient Frostsaber, etc) and you transfer to a race without discontinued mounts, you will be given a random discontinued mount from another race on your new faction.

Hearthstone

After a faction change, a character's hearthstone is automatically set to the inn inside the capital city of their new race, which is also where they re-enter the game world as a member of the opposite faction

Ah, damn. That could have been fun.

Wintersaber Trainers   <->   * n/a

So if you have Wintersaber rep (which is part of getting that sexy doublemint kitty mount), it doesn't help you at all to get the Ravasaur mount, even though the Ravasaur mounts were put in the game specifically to counter the alliance having the doublemint mount. The ravasaur folks have no reputation. So if alliance was hopping sides, they'd be wise to finish that rep and get the cat since it turns into a ravasaur when you jump factions. *shrug*

... If I ever utilized this service, I would wait until the expansion so I could switch to practically any race. The current selection is boring.
