Hope some people leave: Free realm transfers

We will be offering free character moves from selected high population realms to a brand new PvE realm, Garrosh, to assist in population dispersal. The ability to move a character from the selected source realms is scheduled to run until Wednesday, January 14, 6:00 pm PST. Garrosh is an eastern timezone realm on the Emberstorm battlegroup.

In the event that these realms meet our transfer goals before the scheduled end date, the transfers to that realm will be disabled. We highly recommend that if you are planning to transfer that you do so at your earliest convenience. No characters will be eligible for these free moves once the transfers have been closed.

None of the guild bank tabs get transferred, so that has to all be repurchased (I know, not a huge deal, but still 9350 gold to rebuy them - maybe I can sell the guild and tabs for a few thousand before we leave!).

There is no way to guarantee people can transfer before they close the free moves - and no way to see how close to the quota they are. Then you end up with half here, half there. Those there can't come back, those here are looking at multiple $25 charges if they want to move etc.

Everyone has to individually transfer their characters, there is no 'Hey, I'll go wherever the guild went plzkthx' option. You just know someone is going to screw it up somewhere, then you are back to the $25 a pop issue again.

We aren't a huge guild, or a hard-core raiding guild, so we have a lot of casuals that play for fun - means they don't log in every day - heck, some don't show up for a week or two at a time....hard to coordinate those into a 5 or 6 days transfer window that may close at anytime without warning.

Right now, we have probably 70% of the raiding core that say they'd move if we decide to go. The rest either don't care, or haven't seen the notice ;)

And of course, people have friends in other guilds, have run with people they know in pugs and so on - it's often hard to make them all make the break and move....and then you're back to trying to recruit a bunch of people so you can start doing the content your were already doing before you left.....

I've already been told a number of times "Why don't we just wait...someone else will move and we won't have to". Of course, if everyone takes that attitude...Never Changes, Never Fixes...
