Player age - [HDL] guild and Ventrilo chatter is for mature audiences only. If you are not 18+, you will need to be sponsored by a guild member in good standing.
Nearly 40. I am sad.
Where did you hear about [HDL]?
RL friend of Rraagnaarr, Vitello, Greeba, and Bogrot. I was in Honorage Rage waaaay back in the day.
Why do you want to join [HDL]?
I would like to be in a casual-minded guild or at least a guild that isn't full of dickheads.
If you are in a guild, why are you leaving?
My current guild seems to be full of dickheads.
Will you dedicate 5 days a week to raiding?
Nope. I like girls.
If you answered ""Yes" to the question above, are you aware that [HDL] is not a hard core raiding guild?
N/A, but thank goodness!
Will you dedicate 2 nights a week to raiding?
As much as I can and as long as it doesn't conflict with RL. Sex with GF trumps raiding, for example.
Addendum, 23 February 2008 - we are very full on melee DPS and are at capacity for tanks. We are currently seeking ranged DPS, and will always welcome healers.
Hunter, so ranged DPS is covered.
You are headed to run an instance with non-guildies when you spot a flagged gnome. What is the proper course of action: 1) Ignore the gnome and head to the instance, 2) Send a message to the guild of your find. flag immediately, and kill the gnome, leaving the PUG to wait, or 3) neither. If you selected 3, what course of action would you take?
3. Why am I willingly in a PUG again?

3. Kinda depends on my mood at the time.
A tea bag is 1) a small porous bag containing tea leaves or powdered tea, onto which boiling water is poured in order to make a drink of tea, or 2) a verb.
Yes.
Does .Net suck?
If I'm being paid to program with it, no. Otherwise, yes.
Whiskey or whisky?
Buttery Nipple, neat.
Rank in importance to you: Raiding, Fun, PVP, Loot, Camaraderie, Wine, Women/Men, Music, Altaholism, Crafting.

Please provide a perl script that will sort a CSV file by first column, then second, and then insert into a mysql database.
#!/usr/local/bin/perl
use DBI;
$dbh = DBI->connect('dbi:mysql:dbname;', 'username', 'password');
$homedir = "/home/directory";
# populate the tables
open(FPI,"$homedir/filename");
while(<FPI>)
{
chomp;
print "^$_^\n";
@parts = split(/\|/);
$num=@parts;
print "there are $num parts of this row\n";
($var1,$var2,$var3, etc.) = @parts;
print "^$var1^$var2^$var3^\n";
$statement = "SELECT ID FROM table WHERE ID = '$var1'";
$sth = $dbh->prepare($statement)
or die "Can't prepare $statement: $dbh->errstr\n";
$rv = $sth->execute
or die "can't execute the query: $sth->errstr";
if ( $rv != 1 && ( $var2 NE '' || $var2 NE 0 ) ) {
$statement = "INSERT INTO table (col1,col2,col3) VALUES ";
$statement .= "(\"$var1\", \"$var2\", \"$var3\")";
} else {
$statement = "UPDATE table SET col2=\"$var2\",col3=\"$var2\" WHERE col1 = '$var1'";
}
print "$statement\n";
if ($statement NE "") {
$sth = $dbh->prepare($statement)
or die "Can't prepare $statement: $dbh->errstr\n";
$rv = $sth->execute
or die "can't execute the query: $sth->errstr";
}
}
close(FPI);

Note that you really don't need to sort the file before inserting it into the database. You can easily sort any SQL query result on the MySQL db.
Can you follow kill order?
File a Freedom of Information Act request and you might find out.
We do require Omen and Deadly Boss Mods. Do you have these installed?
No, bu if you hum a few bars...
Are you aware the [HDL] is largely a collection of angry and cynical players and under-geared toons?
My people.
Really? Why do you still want to join [HDL]
I did a damn PERL script for you! Is that not enough!? And the HDL tabard gets the chicks man.

:) First one to get it right. I'll have to change the question now that I admitted it!
Not so sure about Joe vouching for you.... Let's just say the photos he likes to post of himself taint a good thing.
Look for an officer online!
