Title: Radiant - 67 Warlock
Post by: Erin/Radiant on Fri, 2009-06-19 : 00:20
Character name:Radiant
Class:Warlock
Build(s):Dual Spec Demonology/Destruction
Level:67

Player name:Erin
Player age -26

Where did you hear about [HDL]? Friend (Turiel)

Why do you want to join [HDL]? I want a guild with a lot of members who will occasionally take me raiding once I get high enough in level. I'd like a group of people to talk to during the process as I'm currently guildless and the game is getting boring because of this.

If you are in a guild, why are you leaving? N/A
Will you dedicate 5 days a week to raiding? Probably not

If you answered ""Yes" to the question above, are you aware that [HDL] is not a hard core raiding guild? N/A

Will you dedicate 2 nights a week to raiding? Yes

You are headed to run an instance with non-guildies when you spot a flagged gnome. What is the proper course of action: 1) Ignore the gnome and head to the instance, 2) Send a message to the guild of your find. flag immediately, and kill the gnome, leaving the PUG to wait, or 3) neither. If you selected 3, what course of action would you take? #1

If you selected 3, what course of action would you take? #3 - Kill the gnome WITH guildmates, revel in it's slaughter, rinse and repeat until bored or group wants to get on with instance.

A tea bag is 1) a small porous bag containing tea leaves or powdered tea, onto which boiling water is poured in order to make a drink of tea, or 2) a verb.  Both

Does .Net suck? Sometimes

Whiskey or whisky? Whiskey

Rank in importance to you: Raiding, Fun, PVP, Loot, Camaraderie, Wine, Women/Men, Music, Alcoholism, Crafting.  Fun, Camaraderie, Men Raiding, Loot, PvP, Crafting, Wine, Alcoholism, Music

Please provide a perl script that will sort a CSV file by first column, then second, and then insert into a mysql database.
Dunno about perl or mysql but I googled this for completion's sake:

#!/usr/bin/perl

use strict;
use Text::CSV;

my $old_string;
my $csv = Text::CSV->new();
while ( my $line = <DATA> ) {
    $old_string = $old_string . join( " ", $csv->fields() ) . "\n"
      if ( $csv->parse( $line ) );
}

my @new_string = map { $_->

    * }

                 sort { $a->[1] cmp $b->[1] }
                 map { [$_, (split)[4]] }
                 split( /\n/, $old_string );

# Recreating the CSV data.
foreach my $i (@new_string) {
    my $j = join "\",\"", split( " ", $i);
    print "\"$j\" \n";
}

__DATA__
"Task1,Task2",ABC,ABC,Mon 05/22/2009,mbm
"Task3,Task4",XYZ,XYZ,Mon 05/20/2009,mbm
"Task5,Task6",ABC,ABC,Mon 06/25/2009,mbm
"Task7,Task8",ABC,ABC,Mon 03/28/2009,mbm

Can you follow kill order? Yes

We do require Omen and Deadly Boss Mods. Do you have these installed? I do now.

Are you aware the [HDL] is largely a collection of angry and cynical players and under-geared toons? No but sounds like I'd fit in.

Really? Why do you still want to join [HDL] Well for one, my friend is in the guild. I'd like some people who can just let me at least sit on the guild roster and take part in guild chat until I hit 80. My character isn't max level, but I'm a pretty cool girl, I kills teh mobs and doesn't afraid of anything. After I get levelled, then maybe I can help raid. (I level fast. Gotten to almost 68 in 4 weeks.)

Why no Feraherde? I'm sure I've probably missed it or something, but I don't see any criteria for joining posted. Is there some way that I'm lacking? You guys have too many warlocks? I realize I'm not going to contribute to a level 80 raid just yet, but I'm trying to level quickly and I just want to make friends with people and be in a guild with a friend I've made in the past...don't see what it would hurt to let me hang out on the guild roster for awhile...and I'm not trying to be smart by asking, more curious than anything.

Don't mind them, they're just young prepubescents who have a minor fear of women. I mean, you don't have cooties right?

No, no cooties. At least none that spread through the internet. :P

I was just messing around.  "Tulion" (Jon) is famous in HDL for saying "I voted no", but recently he was promoted to the council and now he's just a big cuddly teddy bear wubbykins who votes yes, hands out gold (whisper him in game!), offers free pro-tips, and is a generally fawking nice guy.

Someone must persevere in being an asshole for absolutely no good reason, so I guess it falls to me.

Don't mind the banter - it happens on most occaisions.  Turiel told me about you, and you seem cool.  We just need an actual officer to come by here and glance at your app.

Oh, I understand now. Sorry Faraherde. Tone and facial expression is often lost online. I get it now though, inside joke. :P Good to know.
