Title: Old School Warlock
Post by: Raelthorn on Mon, 2009-12-14 : 18:23
Character name(s), class(s), build(s), and level(s)
Raelthorn, Warlock, Demonology / Destruction, 69

Player name (We operate on a first name basis in HDL)
Mike

Player age - [HDL] guild and Ventrilo chatter is for mature audiences only. If you are not 18+, you will need to be sponsored by a guild member in good standing.
26

Where did you hear about [HDL]?
Friends of mine in the guild.

Why do you want to join [HDL]?
I miss a good guild with good peoples.  I already know some folks in, I figure the rest are probably either decent, crazy, or both!

What is your guild membership history? Why did you leave or want to leave?
Oh wow... I played back when lvl 60 was the cap and BC came out I played on a different server to 70.  About 2 weeks after BC came out I had to quit because I moved to the mountains with no internet.  I forced the mountains to accept modern technology and I am off for 6 weeks and I decided that rather slip further into insanity I would trade my soul back in for a WoW account (including WotLK).

The guilds I was in before: Silvermana, Council of War, and any others i forget.

What do you want from a guild?
Fun Chatter and good people to play with.

Can you follow kill order?
That depends on if I get to keep the soul.

Are you a Casual player, Raiding oriented player, or a PvP oriented player?  If you think you are a combination of any of those, what percentage of time would you spend on each?
All 3 to a certain extend.  I leveled to 70 on a PvP server and have done battlegrounds a lot, but not since returning.  I raided up through BWL to kill Nef.  I consider myself a casual raider.

Raiding Questions
Will you dedicate 5 days a week to raiding?
No.
If you answered ""Yes" to the question above, are you aware that [HDL] is not a hard core raiding guild?

Will you dedicate 2 nights a week to raiding? Maybe.  Depending on the week, and my work schedule.  Although if I say I am going to be there I generally am.

Are you willing to take/accept criticism to make you a better player? Yes.

We do require Omen and Deadly Boss Mods. Do you have these installed? No, but thats easy to acquire.  I really love the new WoW UI and haven't found any reasons so far to install mods.

What is your primary and secondary talent build? Which do you prefer?  Demonology (working up from Felguard to and not quite up to Met) and Destrcutions (to Shadowburn)

What is your rotation for your primary and secondary builds? No secondary.  If I did it would probably be Affliction.  My other server 70 was a shadow priest... I like to have SOME difference between them, but c'est la vie.

Explain your gear choices, including gems and enchants.
Not 80 yet... I am not sure its quite relevant.  I've been mostly questing and not instancing so gears been kinda tough to upgrade past the BWL stuff since quest rewards are not nearly as good as boss drops.

PVP Questions

You are headed to run an instance with non-guildies when you spot a flagged gnome. What is the proper course of action: 1) Ignore the gnome and head to the instance, 2) Send a message to the guild of your find. flag immediately, and kill the gnome, leaving the PUG to wait, or 3) neither. If you selected 3, what course of action would you take?
Leave him alone, I'd like to set to my instance without taking another 35 minutes in trying to res, kill, PVP etc.  On a PvP server I might kill him depending, but generally I wave, leave him along, and do my own business.

See above.

A tea bag is 1) a small porous bag containing tea leaves or powdered tea, onto which boiling water is poured in order to make a drink of tea, or 2) a verb.
1

Do you prefer Battlegrounds, Arenas, or World PVP? Why?
BGs... It becomes a game and less about harassing someone and being harasses.

What is your favorite battleground? Why? AB & WG were my favorites.  I never did the BC one and the forstwolf one took too long.

Rank in important to stack for an Arena battle: Resilience, Attack Power/Spell Power, Critical Strike, Hit Rating.
I have no idea.  My Guess:
CS, Res, AP/SP, HR

Social Questions
How would you rate yourself as a World of Warcraft player?
Not dumb.
Does .Net suck?
.org rules all!
Whiskey or whisky?
Johnney Black if I can
Rank in importance to you: Raiding, Fun, PVP, Loot, Camaraderie, Wine, Women/Men, Music, Altaholism, Crafting.
Beer, Fun, Camaraderie, Raiding, Loot, PvP Crafting, Music, Women/Men
Please provide a perl script that will sort a CSV file by first column, then second, and then insert into a mysql database.

FROM groups

WHERE (((Guild.Wholikespie) = Yes))
ORDER BY Guild.Players

What is your favorite instance? What is your favorite boss fight?
Its honestly been a long time.  I liked the Hellfire Citadel =).

Are you easily offended? Is your hot button race, religion, sex, or politics?
No and politics.

Are you aware the [HDL] is largely a collection of angry and cynical players and under-geared toons?
No, but thats cool.  I like Cartoons.

Really? Why do you still want to join [HDL]
I am hoping you love for pie is equal to my own.  That and to have fun with more people.  Lots more....
who are cool......
And not lame.....
and not 13.
=)

Ok, inserting obligatory: How do you feel about Dogs and Horses?   Also, how do you feel about Jurassic Park?

Mike here is a decent fellow, but I've never seen him play WoW.  :)

A very compelling application, however there is a syntax error in your SQL statement.

Uh oh.  Automatic denial.

Wow Silvermana, that guild name certainly takes me back.  Look forward to seeing you around!

Dogs & Horses are both delicious!  Jurassic Park is easily one of the best movies ever and a pretty decent book.

And the Syntax Error is intentional ;)

I was on the fence because he's friends with Mark, but then I saw his comment about Jurassic Park.  I vote yes.

Who would win in a fight, a troll or a rogue?

I hope you happy... making me think.

I'm actually very new at SQL.  A troll... he would flame the shit out of the rogue so much so the rogue would quit the game and become an alcoholic.

Oh the Legion of Discord.  That was fun and then it was the Axis of Evil for a while and at the end the Legion of Discord.  The Axis was some good times.

I'll keep an eye out.
