The subway that I normally visit tessellates my cheese.  Even though some fools responded that they get the cheese in squares in Canada and tear it length-wise.  Wtf, sounds like they bought a pack of cheese slices at the grocery store after they ran out :)

I disapprove of subway.  They always advertise their subs to be full and delicious, but when you actually get one, it barely contains any kind of meat, and just fails to look supper appetizing.

Quiznos and  private deli's ftw!

Carnegie Deli in NYC if you want a stuffed sammich. Redonculous.

Well, homemade first and foremost, then I'd do Quiznos, and then subway.

Hilarious cartoon. I loved it! Pita Pit is my fav sandwich joint followed by Quiznos. I did have an amazing steak sandwich from this little deli when I lived in Denver, but that's thousands of miles away now =(

Exactly.  Privately owned Deli's are by far the best places to go for a sandwich.  Though I have found that if you live in New York state there is a grocery chain called Wegmans.  They have a deli station along with all other kinds of take home foods.  They make amazing subs as well.

There's a chain in northern WV (and maybe western PA and elsewhere- not entirely sure) called 'Hero Hut'.  They make a sub called the "Hero burger" that can even give me a run for my money.  The sandwich starts with 4 hamburger patties, bologna, pepperoni, salami, ham, and turkey, and goes from there.  If you're brave, you can ask for them to double all of the meats.  True fact: 1 Hero sandwich feeds an entire Haitian orphanage for 4 days.

They also have (had?) a Hero Chicken which was multiple breaded chicken patties (fried, of course), cheese, mayo galore; you could get it "Cordon Bleu" back when I was there which added ham to the mix.

I had a Hero Burger again a few years ago - half of one and I could feel a sodium rush. They must have 6x your fat and 10x your sodium recommended intake... for the week.

I have witnessed Cap eating 2 entire Hero Burgers with Double Meat at a single sitting.... I shudder to think of the fiber requirements later.

ugh, just the thought of that Hero sandwich makes me feel ill.

You wanna talk about a sammich... you can't beat a Chicago Italian Beef... hellloooo Portillo's!

Portillos for me next week. Combo. I go every time I am in Chitown. I even go to the one where they stop 4 lanes of traffic at lunch time to handle the drive in. Portillos, Giordanos pizza, and Heaven on Seven. Hmmm. I am getting hungry.
