Player name: Chris

Player age 29

29 yrs old.

Where did you hear about [HDL]?
I've seen you guys around quite a bit and pugged some raids with some of you. I recall members from HDL to be skilled and friendly.

Why do you want to join [HDL]?
I'm looking for a place where I could raid at a casual pace. I enjoy 10 mans a lot more than 25 as you tend to create much stronger bonds with your fellow raiders. Over time you get to know exactly how they play and how they will react and it creates a nice feeling of cohesion.

What is your guild membership history? Why did you leave or want to leave?
Currently with Udder Perfection. I'm seeking a bit of understanding from the members of HDL in which I don't plan on moving my 3 characters to this guild. I have several very good friends in UP and I would like to be able to spend some time with them at times.

What do you want from a guild?
I want to be a part of a successful group. Although I'm now a casual player I still read up on strats and class mechanics / theorycrafting websites. I spend almost as much time doing research than I do playing the game.

Can you follow kill order?
Absolutely, I spank whatever the MT is spanking.

Are you a Casual player, Raiding oriented player, or a PvP oriented player?
Casual player.

Raiding Questions

Will you dedicate 5 days a week to raiding?
No. On off nights I enjoy playing with my real life friends and family.

Will you dedicate 2 nights a week to raiding?
Yes, absolutely.

Are you willing to take/accept criticism to make you a better player?
Alwys. I would never be at the spot I am now if I didn't. I enjoy theory crafting and discussing with others the mechanics of the game.

We do require Omen and Deadly Boss Mods. Do you have these installed?
Yes.

What is your primary and secondary talent build? Which do you prefer?
On my hunter I prefer SV - It's a lot better DPS and brings much more raid usefulness. I'm BM as a 2nd spec only for my spirit beasts and I still enjoy farming as this spec.

On my paladin I really enjoy protection. I love aggro and I love having 20 mobs beating on me and seeing if any dps can grab aggo off me, which usually never happens ;) Although my ret dps is very good, I find the rotation to be extremely boring compared to my enhancement shaman. On a side note, my prot spec at the moment is a bit strange I know. I've been experimenting with a build for heroics (which is where I spend most of my time in nowadays). If you select me for a raid tank I will spec / glyph appropriately.

On my shaman I really enjoy resto but enhancement is truly a fun spec as well.

On all toons I usually out dps/dmg most people with much higher GS. As an example, today in VoA25, I averaged 6800dps and finished 3rd on dps and dmg while being in 20th spot as per gearscore.

What is your rotation for your primary and secondary builds?

SV Hunter (priority rotation) -> Rapid Fire / Kill Shot / Blood Fury (I'm an orc) / Explosive Shot / Black Arrow / Serpent Sting (if it's not up) / Aimed Shot / Steady Shot. I also only use Iceblade Arrows.

Enhancement Shaman (priority rotation) -> Feral Spirit / Stormstrike / MW5 Lightning Bolt / Fire Ele on boss / Magma Totem / Earth Shock / Fire Nova / Lava Lash / Lightning shield

Resto Shaman -> I ensure Earth Shield is up on MT, Use riptide every CD to maximize lesser healing wave crit chance on tank and offer 10% reduce physical dmg buff. I don't have quite enough haste yet to make chain heal really shine yet but I still tend to use it a lot for raid healing.

Prot Paladin (969 rotation) -> Avengers Shield / Holy Shield (9) / Shield of Righteousness or Hammer of the Righteous depending on number of mobs (6) / Consecration (9) / Shield of Righteousness or Hammer of the Righteous depending on the ability I used previously (6) / Judgement of Wisdom or Light.

Ret Paladin (priority rotation) -> Hammer of Wrath / Crusader Strike / Judgement / Divine Storm / Consecration / Exorcism

Explain your gear choices, including gems and enchants.

This could take a long time but generally speaking I gem for whichever stat is the highest boost for my specific class. If you look at my gemming / enchants on my gear I'm sure you will see I understand each class / spec I play very well.

PVP Questions

You are headed to run an instance with non-guildies when you spot a flagged gnome. What is the proper course of action: 1) Ignore the gnome and head to the instance, 2) Send a message to the guild of your find. flag immediately, and kill the gnome, leaving the PUG to wait, or 3) neither. If you selected 3, what course of action would you take?

I played on a PvP server for the first 3+ years (Skullcrusher and then Burning Blade). I fucking kill every alliance I can. I despise them all and it's they're fault for rolling a weak faction.

A tea bag is 1) a small porous bag containing tea leaves or powdered tea, onto which boiling water is poured in order to make a drink of tea, or 2) a verb.

A verb!

Do you prefer Battlegrounds, Arenas, or World PVP? Why?

None of the above anymore, Blizz messed up PvP so bad. Servers can't handle a real city raid thus making World PvP pretty difficult and annoying. I do have decent pvp gear on my shaman and paly but it's not not like it was in BC days.

What is your favorite battleground? Why?

Back in the day I really enjoyed AB and WSG. I played with a PvP guild for about a year pre-BC and really enjoyed going against other PvP guilds (before cross-realm).

Rank in important to stack for an Arena battle: Resilience, Attack Power/Spell Power, Critical Strike, Hit Rating.

It's a combination of things, but generally speaking you want to make sure you can survice 2GCD so I would have to say Reilience, but you need to keep in mind you need to be able to outdps the other teams healers so AP/SP is a close 2nd. Then hit, then crit I guess.

Social Questions

How would you rate yourself as a World of Warcraft player?

Skilled and friendly. But watch out if you're a douche or a generally unpleasent person, I don't hold back. I'm in the Army and we deal with fucktards on a regular basis and it usually doesn't end well for that dude...

Does .Net suck?

Concept is good but implementation has been horrible. Too many security holes.

Whiskey or whisky?

Rye!

Rank in importance to you: Raiding, Fun, PVP, Loot, Camaraderie, Wine, Women/Men, Music, Altaholism, Crafting.

Tits and ass, Alcoholism!, Camaraderie and fun comes automatically when you're all drunk, all the rest is a blur.

Please provide a perl script that will sort a CSV file by first column, then second, and then insert into a mysql database.

I'm no longer a webmaster and refuse to ever get back into it. I hate computer programming.

What is your favorite instance? What is your favorite boss fight?

There's quite a few, but in WotlK I would have to say Mirmiron pre nerf. I really enjoy fights that are split into phases and it was definitely a good challenge back then.

Are you easily offended? Is your hot button race, religion, sex, or politics?

Live and let live has always been my moto. One does not join the Army if he's easily offended!

Are you aware the [HDL] is largely a collection of angry and cynical players and under-geared toons?

Yup.

Really? Why do you still want to join [HDL]

Because I'm an angry and cynical player that once had under-geared toons and can help you get gear to rectify the situation!

Just a little bit confused on this part of the app.  Are you planning on moving a specific toon over?  Or?

I think the confusion has to do with applying per character vs applying per player.

I think he outlined all of his available toons to let HDL pick which they need most.  Regardless, having raided with Chris a lot in Udder, I can say no matter which character he plays, he does it well, in all aspects - gearing, theorycrafting and execution.  You won't be sorry for guilding him.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. I applied with all 3 toons but with the intention of only moving 1 or 2 depending on your needs. I couldn't find a thread indicating your current recruitment requirements.

If I could pick one, I would like to help out the guild in a tanking roll.
