We have to move the box on which this web site, along with many others, currently resides. I am looking for colo recommendations.

I am actually tempted to try macminicolo.com - it starts at $55 a month and I can buy and ship a Mac mini pretty cheaply. OTOH, I am more comfortable running a Linux server, in which case I would want to find a local (Northern VA) provider.

Like I've said before, throw up a PayPal donations button for the HDL site donations on the page. I'll contribute a few bucks here and there. I'm sure some others will do so as well. What you get, however small will be more to help with the payment.

Since you mentioned it I've been reading up on the features and services provided by this group. It sounds like it's a pretty solid option and although you are familiar with linux ... the Mac isn't that far off, especially with the fact you get Desktop Sharing (basically) and can simple use the command line if you so choose. This really sounds like a pretty good deal IMO.

I prefer linux for the easy of CLI management, but I used to run a Mac OS X server at home for email. Just might be easier, and $55 a month is not bad at all.
