Some guild members and friends of the guild are going to be playing Warhammer Online. I am wondering how many (of our very small number) are going to play. If you are going to play, please list which faction(s)/race(s).
Game is alt friendly, so intentions are to have a few to play with.
Dest/Chaos/Zealot
Dest/Dark Elf/Disciple of Khain
Order/High Elf/Archmage
Order: Warrior Priest
Order: Sword Master
Destruction: Disciple
Destruction: Witch Elf
Destruction: Chosen
(So far)
Played a Bright Wizard up to level 5 (6?) and that is a lot of fun as well. "Burn, burn, BURN, BU-" Kaboom!
Currently in the open beta.
Des - Disciple (lvl 9)
Des - Chosen
Ord - Engineer
Ord - Archmage

Server list. Let's pick one.
OK. Here are the servers I plan to roll on initially (all core ruleset):
Primary Destruction: Drakwald
Secondary Destruction: Sea of Claws
Primary Order: Thorgrim
Secondary Destruction is there just when Primary is too full or down.
I pretty much chose these at random trying to avoid the common ones people may choose.
Funny - I chose Sea of Claws & Thorgrim as well. Spooky.
Change:
Not all of the servers are up for the CE Pre-Order players. I am playing Destruction on Bretonnia. My Chosen is named Belatu.
Side note - Destruction heavily outweighs Order. Many of the servers are full on Destruction and still Medium or even Low population on the Order side.
Hi all,
In order to make tomorrow's CE Head Start a great experience for everyone we're going to open 5 new servers along with the ones posted here.
We have a ton of servers ready and waiting and will continue to bring new ones online as the need arises. In addition to opening new servers we'll be slowly raising the population caps on all of the servers to encourage players to start on less populated ones and create a stable and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We want everyones first experience in WAR to be a great one and to provide a place where you and your friends, new and old alike, can play for years to come. Thank you!

Obviously "Open/RVR" is a pvp realm. Are "Core" realms only opt-in pvp?

Correct, unless you are in an RVR area.
My Witch Elf
Core is like WoW pve servers with areas where you flag automatically for being there. Those are the rvr "lakes" in each zone. When you enter a lake, you are Bolstered to the min level for the area. Like for the first lake, it is bolster to level 8. You have your normal abilities, they just damage as a level 8 would and you have health as a normal level 8.
Open is a pvp server with a mechanic that prevents someone 20 levels above the "zone" from griefing lowbies in the zone. There is still ganking, it's just closer in level, etc. And no Bolster in rvr lakes.
Both have a "chicken" mechanic that if you outlevel an area and try to come back to kill quest NPCs or grief people in the rvr lakes, that you are turned into a chicken with 1 hp and can be killed easily. This literally means that you can pvp in the area, hit the level cap and get insta-chickened.... which is just hillarious to see.
Just some info.
And.... Pat is all happy with his Witch Elfs lack of clothing and slim ass.
That screenshot looks a lot like WoW to me. Icons at the bottom, map in the upper right hand corner... but, I guess all mmorpg's look alike after a while...

(Thanks, Todd)
Some pics from a keep siege late tonight (after midnight).
Man, those pics were the last thing I needed to see. Are the graphics that much better than Warcraft? They look pretty slick!
Damn
The RVR is spectacular. Wrath PVP is going to be better but this will tide us over.
UPDATE: Todd and I will be rolling order on Vortex to group with an old [ES] friend.
I've settled in on Dark Crag with an engineer since my roommates and some friends are there. It's a heavily populated open rvr server, both destro and order. I'm having a great time levelling as well. Slow as it is, you cant level in wow through pvp.
To me, this game is pretty much DAoC2.
And as such, I don't see a return to wow for me.
I think as of tonight that I may focus on Order. Just too much fun and the RPG aspect is wicked.
