I upgraded the web site to SMF 2 full version. I will be fixing the portal as soon as I can.
Looks nice, glad the recent post area is on top so you don't have to scroll around looking for it.
The shoutbox is giving me serious SQL issues. I will address that later, but it is low on my priority list.

Yay! The site is saving my portal layout preferences now!
I used to be able to see the "recent posts" bar while viewing the forums, but can only see it from the home page now. Is that intentional?

No. It is something I am trying to fix.
OK, I have the "Recent Posts", "HDL Events", and "Calendar" blocks staying sticky across the portal and boards.
There does seem to be some flakiness with text entry with those enabled - I may or may not get around to fixing it.
Pat,
Didn't recent posts, used to be recent threads? Instead of most recent threads people are posting on, I'm seeing that 8 people responded to the same thread and nothing else because anything older is being pushed off. Is there something you can do to change it? Or is that how its supposed to be?
Rick, that is the default behavior of the portal, and I left it that way to see what people think. I will change it since I agree that it is a bit too verbose.
I am in a meeting and someone is droning on, so I decided to make the change now. The Recent Posts block now displays updated topics in lieu of individual posts, and I expanded the block to the last 7 topics updated. This is also mirrored at the bottom of the Portal page.
Let me know if you guys prefer this, and keep the critiques and questions coming!
Much better. Thanks :)
I also greatly prefer the recent threads list over the recent posts list. Thanks, Patrick.
