Title: How to avoid WoW burnout
Post by: Vitandus on Fri, 2009-02-27 : 14:34
This is why I play Left4Dead and Dawn of War 2 and Civ 4 and Rock Band and....

From Ghostcrawler (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=15211006508&pageNo=1&sid=1#17), emphasis mine:

Although WoW is a gigantic game, some players are just going to voraciously devour whatever content we can throw at them. There are certainly a lot of different ways to play the game that you can experiment with if you do get bored. I would suggest things like trade skills, achievements or completing all of the quests you might have skipped. Collect some offspec gear and try a different role (in PvP or PvE). Rerolling can also be a lot of fun. If you're just burned out, it's also not the worst thing in the world to try out some other games -- the past couple of years has been great for them. Just check back in with WoW every now and then. :)

One of my buddies is in a hard core raiding guild and is whining about having nothing to do.

I play a few other games too; Oblivion and Morrowind are still favorites along with Halo, Gears of War, COD, and Mass Effect...

However, these days my daughter has taken over my Xbox 360. I've bought kiddy games for her and the gaming Xbox is now in her room.  ::) She plays a few times weekly.

ya im know this subject alot...i used to play WoW almost everyday non-stop. i would play b4 work, during work if could, and after work when i get home for hours on end till it was early morning. and because of that i got so bored after BC that i took almost 2 years off from WoW...even going so far as vowing never to play again no matter wat...well as can see that didnt work out as planned  ;) but i do play other games when not on WoW or working. im on Halo (jus love pwning them nubs ;D) and CS as well as other things also ilike to take my kids out to the park and play with them so im good on not burning out on WoW....for now  :o
