I am honestly considering trading or selling to buy another class. I am gettting very bored of the same ole thing and not being able to raid because of being melee dps lol.  Im not quite sure about this yet, but any imput would help. Positive or negative, Im here to hear it all! Thanks guys!

fyi i wasnt talking about guild raids as being melee.

Winchcombe

You've been in the guild a week, nobody cares what you do with your warrior.  You're not invited to raids, furthermore, because your situational awareness is crappy and you don't perform to your gear level, not because you're melee.

I'm also pretty sure you're thinking about switching mains because getting better on your warrior would require time, effort, and thought, none of which you seem especially willing to put forth considering that you gave up after all of one day.  You remind me of another Aaron we had in this guild a while back, and people didn't like him much, either.

Mahoma

Yes my situational awareness is crappy since I have been on one raid! You hit the nail on the head there sir. I also said I was considering those things not destroying the earth with inanimate objects. No sense.  I have asked Skippy among other warriors what they do, I have read countless forums and web posts about fury warriors so on and so forth. So until I can hone my skills, sure I wont be pulling 7k dps, 7 days after I change specs. I am so sorry to have upset you or made you mad, I am not trying to be an asshole, but I dont really mind what people think of me on an online game such as this. Good morning.

Don't ask for input, "positive or negative", and then complain and say the opinions of people on the internet don't matter when you get the former.  As for having been on "one raid", you're wearing the Revered ring from the Ashen Verdict.

Quitting and bullshit excuses in response to a problem?  Did you originally mean to apply to Commonwealth instead of HDL?

While our friend Joe here is only being himself (brutally fucking honest), I'll try to be a bit more constructive.

Like I said to you in gchat yesterday when you brought this up, I find that almost all people end up hitting a wall/getting bored/getting burned out with WoW after a while. Usually a short to moderate break--a few months, maybe--will resolve that. Go play another game for a while, whatever, just something else to entertain yourself other than WoW. Maybe you'll find that when you come back, the game has regained some freshness for you. If not, okay, maybe it's time to quit. But I wouldn't sell your account before trying to take a break.

I will give Joe some credit here--you haven't been in the guild for more than a few days, so I can't honestly say I have much of a personal investment in your decision, nor do imagine anybody else really does yet. If you want more personable input, I'd hang around a little longer and ask again in a few weeks. If you're just truly not enjoying the game, then do what you gotta do.

I had a reply written up but then I ended up closing the fucking window by accident and now it's after lunch and I don't have time to type something up.  It's sort of along the lines of what Joe was saying.

What I gathered from your app was that you've been raiding for awhile (maybe not the latest and greatest content etc), but you said about 30% of your time was spent raiding also stating that you were geared to tank entry level raids heroics.  One would think that you might have picked up on some situational awareness in that time.

I can't honestly say what went down, or what happened, but why did you drop your Arms spec for Fury?  Are you doing that much worse as Fury compared to Arms?  Maybe you need to switch back?

Sara gives some good advice about taking a break, etc....I've played since release only to find times when the game gets boring, and I'll take a few months away just to get into something different.  I usually end up coming back every time since Wow is pretty fun, and you get to know alot of people.

Good luck.

Youre exactly correct. I ask these questions SO I can get better. I want to know what I am doing wrong to fix them and not have them happen again. Like I said, I have researched my spec/class with a LOT of time, and EFFORT messing around with different ideas and such.
So what it boils down to is when I ask for help with something, someone says my wrists should be carpet bombed with rusty razor blades.

I didnt say the opinions of people on the internet dont matter to me when I have taken advice from many people that worked out just fine. As for the excuses?

I am truly sorry for offending you in any way, that was not my intention. In fact I hope you can give me some tips, maybe help me out a little bit to be the best I can be and contribute something to the guild while I am in it, considering I wont be in it long because I cant do my job.

Regards, Aaron

I think you should really consider what your goals are in HDL and WoW more generally.  If you want to raid and push some crazy DPS, which is what I'm gathering from your post, then that's what you need to focus on at this point.  I realize that you've read tons of stuff, but just reading theorycraft is only going to get you so far.

If you want to improve your DPS, and you've really done an appropriate amount of reading and comprehension, then I would recommend you do the following:

(1) Get yourself setup to keep a combat log, something you can post on WOL or something like that.

(2) Get in a PUG or some kind of raid and DPS your heart out.

(3) Post the log, a link to your equipment (or make sure to log out with it on), explain your rotation, and ask for help.

(4) Make sure you have a thick skin and be prepared for people to call you out on stuff should you be making some mistakes (which seems likely, given your own admission).

It's very hard to give any advice when you claim (and I don't have reason to doubt this claim) that you've read everything out there, but we have nothing to look at but your own testimony.

Winchcombe

Let's keep in mind the fact that you didn't start this thread in the raiding forum asking for dps tips or how to improve your awareness in a raid environment, you simply asked in our tavern how we all feel about the potential sale of your warrior.

That said, given the change of topic, I'm not really very inclined to help someone whose first reaction to adversity is to ask a bunch of people he just met if they think he should give up and do something easier, which is how this thread struck me whether you intended it or not.

Finally, don't put

in your profile and then expect to be coddled.

First thing about HDL is "Angriest Guild on Zul'jin".  Second thing is Play what you want to Play.

Being that you have only been in the guild a short time, it won't matter too much if you want to play a different class.  Please do if that's what you want.

When it comes to selling characters, things get a little dicier.  What it comes down to, is that if you want to learn a class, you need to level with it...try out the abilities as you get them, and do research on it as you go and more when you get to end game.

I can't give you specific warrior advice, but general.  If you don't like your warrior, play something different, though I caution you that if you just trade it for a different toon, you still won't be as good as you like to be.  Also, make sure the guild knows in advance if you decide to sell or trade a toon, so we can remove it from the roster so we don't have problems in the future.

i can tell you from expierience, selling your toon is a dumb fucking move. leveling suck when its all you have to do.

Skippy

Looking at your armory, you are way over the expertise cap - you can change out some gems that you have.  In your pants, for example, a 20 ArP gem would be better than 15 stamina that you're getting.  It's also usually not a great idea to gem for straight crit because it doesn't scale with buffs, so you may want to get a different gem (str/crit if you're set on matching socket bonus) for your shoulders.  Can replace another gem in your bracers, chest, and both helmet gems - the agility/crit damage meta scales better.  Finish leveling up your blacksmithing for an extra 2 sockets.  I'm also curious why you put the 10 stats gem in your prismatic belt slot - may as well throw that into a blue socket (your helmet, perhaps.)

Your haste rating and hit rating could also stand to come down some, but, as with my hit rating as well, I know you can be handcuffed by gear.

The rotation is fairly simple.  Watch one of my videos and pay close attention to how and when I'm using my abilities, cooldowns, etc.  I know the quality isn't the best, but you can still make it out if you look.  If you notice, I'm pretty much always queueing heroic strike.
