Why some guilds can now down Illidan - raid bosses nerfed

Well, don't read too much into that.  The bosses will not be easier.  These changes were to make the bosses still downable at current gear levels with the mechanics changes that are coming in the 3.0.2 patch.

Illidan not Shear'ing comes as a huge relief to our tanks and also to the rest of our healers.

From what I have read, etc. this patch is going to hurt everyone and thus the lower health is going to be needed. Expect most healers to be OOM or near it at the end of boss fights... if not in the middle of them. At least until people adjust. Mana using DPS may also notice less mana as well.... maybe. I have not kept up on that end as much as the healing end.

I'm hoping to have time before Oct 14th to get onto the PTR and do some healing tests to finalize spec, gemming, and enchant changes for Oneear. Everything has to be changed to keep viable, unfortunately. At least, IMO. I am not looking forward to having to cast Water Shield every 18 seconds, though.

My OP was a jab at Geordie, who just got some gear from Illidan. :)

I'll have to change out some of Kellanon's tanking gear. I hope the mana regeneration will help on his Retribution gear. The best gear for Retribution paladins does not have any Intellect, and no Retribution paladin specs MP5, so we go mana dry quickly.

Hmm I'll have to re-read the patch notes, I hadn't made note of anything that will be affecting my mana pool.  Then again since I have Life-Tap I don't pay much attention to my mana pool anyway, mainly just my hp.

From what I understand though, this is not going to make the fights any easier.  Actually they will still be harder on healers and casters from what I gather.  Is this correct?

Patch notes are incomplete and wrong. Won't be updated probably until nearer to going live. You are much better off keeping up to date with blue.mmo-champion.com or the mmo-champion.com main page.

Suffice to say, yeah, lots of stuff has changed.

Whether things are harder or easier for BC content is still up for debate as people are still trying to figure that out.

I would hope they don't change the bosses until the patch hits, otherwise they will be much easier with current mechanics.

I'll have to check out those pages.  I haven't reallly been as interested in past patches as I am in this patch.  Mainly because of Wotlk.
