That's right.  They got through and disabled my authenticator and changed my password.  Just FYI...get me out of the GB

Started the process of restoring information and such by email/web page.

Looks like Anna was too fast, or the hacker was too slow, and they didn't accomplish anything.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, Anna. Do you have any idea how your account details were compromised and your authenticator bypassed? I'm assuming you've completed an anti-virus scan of your computer. Any findings reported? It's a sad day when you have the authenticator and your account's hacked.

They didn't give any details to how it happened.  No viruses/malware/adware/etc were found.  I lucked out.  I was up about half an hour after my account was compromised, so I could get right on fixing the issue.  The report for account summary did say they removed the authenticator first, then changed the password.  But I'm not really sure how that works...

I feel like I'd have more input if I were more computer savvy.

On the bright side, the GM that handled the issue overuses the term "giggity" in his emails. 

Ah, well - I guess the important thing is you're getting things restored to the way they were before and little damage was done while they had your account.

Sounds like a Man in the Middle attack to me - either that, or you do have a keylogger installed.

I can only catch what Sophos catches.  If we have any 3rd party security systems, we can't get online via the school's internet.  It's pretty good, as far as I know, but it didn't catch anything.  Everything was clear and such.  My account has been temporarily disabled, so I expect to be able to get back online in two days or so.

Ah, you are at school. All it takes is a guy with modicum of IT skillz to inject himself and execute a MITM attack.

Turns out they've permanently disabled my account.  Trying to clear things up...
