My bad.

In the future I'll try to refrain from losing my temper and alienating entire guilds just because somebody is an asshole for a few hours.  PUGs bring out the worst in me and it's not terribly fair that you all have to suffer the consequences.

On the bright side, spca won't be applying to the guild now.  Silver lining, anyone?

Tessekai

Did I miss something after I left?

Winchcombe

Yes.

Samurai Pizza Cats as a whole may or may not (read: may) have me on ignore.

Holiterra

I ran with the Guild Leader of SPC a lot from 60 - 80. great guy. I haven't seen him on in a few weeks. I imagine he is playing one of his many alts. :-)

I wish I could have made the raid last evening but 7:30 was way too early. My daughter is up and still hopping around at that time.

Vitandus

Do you guys enjoy making it difficult for me to build partnerships with other guilds?  :'(

I gather this was the Faraherde and Spca show? The guy may have been a bit condescending (telling Duegar how to play a warlock was classy), but we also had a lot of people just ignoring raid orders. The MT was chasing adds instead of Noth when he came back, people were lighting up the adds and Noth before the tanks had threat, AoE was all over the place, and people were not following kill order. It's a PUG.

I spoke with Spca after the run. I don't think there is a problem between the guilds.

I am a diplomat at heart.

Let's get a little perspective here. We had ZERO tanks on last night. NONE.

Let's remember what most tanks are sure of.

1) They are the best tank on the server.
2) They know better than anyone what every class needs to do and when.
3) If something fails it is never their fault.

I ask everyone for some patience when we deal with these PUGs. While I am quite certain we didn't want Spca apping to the guild, every person that calls Spca friend is now certain that HDL is not a place for them, which may or may not be true.

I was willing to call the raid last night because our complete lack of ability to put together a decent 25 man (disappointing) but was pushed by several to "PUG the shit out of it" and we did that. IN ADDITION we did it relatively well. Sure there were rocks to navigate (and get thrown) but we still downed a good number of bosses.

You can sit and bitch on the guildline all you want, but please refrain from calling people out in vent. A small amount of diplomacy goes a long way. To be fair to the tank, 50% of the warlocks were retarded. It's a complete and utter lack of experience that caused the issues. And for people who don't know the legend of Duegar, they could assume (incorrectly) 50% of the time it was him.

I feel pretty bad because it was my tells that got the guy to whisper and go in the first place.

I feel that if we are gonna be pugging, and getting people on our vent, we should have the good sense to keep our mouths shut if people are being dipshits or asses.  Dave! is right - keep it in guild chat.

On a side note - who the hell is Lolcrits, and why is he so damned creepy?

Hey now, I tank and

  • I know I am not the best at tanking. Finding D! midgets or OneEar breasticles, sure, I am the best.
  • I know what I know, and what I don't know. (I didn't know Shamans cast anything other than Healing Wave, Bloodlust, and some sticks in the ground.)
  • It's always my fault. Except when in a PUG.

Winchcombe

It wasn't that he took charge or thought he was fantastic that bothered me, but rather the tone he used when instructing everyone else.  Blaming wipes on single spell healing aggro is nonsense, and so was his claim that people magically stopped taking damage once we started listening to his ideas.

The DK was supposed to be on the adds and I never once saw Death and Decay go down.  Spca's lament, furthermore, that I would "never understand" his point about heals causing threat was frankly insulting.  He was also too impatient to wait for Patchwerk to path away so everybody could get into position before pulling, and blamed it on everybody else not understanding how the hateful strikes work.

Nobody in HDL appreciated his attitude, the rest of you just happen to be classy enough not to get in an argument about it over Ventrilo.  I sincerely apologize that I am not, and will work in the future to restrain myself.  In all honesty, though, it might just be a better idea for me to step out of raids we largely PUG on account of my complete lack of tolerance for elitist, condescending (sp?) douchebaggery.

Your main is not a tank.
If and when you become MT for the guild you'll develop superiority issues.

Kellanon used to be MT for HDL. Imagine running Karazahn with Chuck and Geordie bickering while Carmen rantsin /1 instead of healing. Ahhhhh, good times, good times.

It's hard to get too big an ego problem when you are you leading a group of school children.

One Ear

Last night, while fun, was very messy. And it wasn't just the pugs. A lot of people were playing less than smart at times. Myself included.

Bears and Warriors generate threat differently than Pallies and DKs. On pulls and aggro resets it is quite easy to pull threat due to all kinds of problems (a misfortunate parry, etc.) and without some aoe in place to pull threat back, it can get brutal. This includes healing. And in the case of healing, it usually is going to result in a cascade of healer deaths. Usually it's something like tank pulls (or aggro resets and tank aggros) and is hit, tanks attack is parried, healer drops a big heal (usually overhealing), healer gets aggro and hit, another healer heals him and gets hit, etc. It happens. Not as much as it used to, but it still happens. Happens a lot less with Consecration and DnD because if the tanks attack hits, you have aoe in place already.

So, yes, single spell healing aggro happens and is not nonsense and is the healers fault, IMO. I thought SPCA had a point. I left before Patchwerk so I can't talk about what was going on there.

All said, I'm just glad Joe got a nice epic hunter weapon. He says he can't win against Kyle (Greeba).
