Ran across this link while running around on google - though the moonkins may appreciate it.  Any tips for moonkin rotations can go here!

Thank you, but a question for the pro Boomkins out there (looking at you Javn!) so I can get used to it...

How are you able to cast Starfire so much with the Lunar Rotation? Like almost every fight I've seen I have to move or run or do something so those 3s Starfires are a little excessive and try and kill me or my raid. I used the calculator from EJ's forums and Lunar and Solar are almost the same with Lunar pulling out a little more, like around 50 or 75 DPS.

I mean my rotation so far has been IS>MF>Star X3>Wrathspam and depending on if the Starfires proc Eclipse or the Wraths proc Eclipse I either spam Star or Wrath, is that an OK rotation to keep or should I stick with one or the other? If it is OK, I guess I'll just have to tighten the rotation down (and also get boomkin-directed gear -_-).

I use the standard lunar rotation that is listed for most fights. I agree, there are some fights where you have to run around, and you don't end up getting a chance to use the ideal rotation, but if we're talking patchwerk, they've got it covered. The thing I'd add is - Are you popping your cooldowns whenever available? Trees are dps too, especially if you  know when the bloodlust is coming and pop them right before. Starfall is great bonus dps, and as they state, can keep NG proccing so you're throwing hasted starfires. Trinkets too! If you don't have passive ones then you want to time them when you get the most out of them.

One other part:
I'm not sure where you're getting Starfire x3 from. I can usually cast 6-7 while the proc is up, and another 5 or so during the cooldown. With all the haste raid buffs the cast time is about 2 seconds each. The issue with solar eclipse is that with enough haste your wrath spell is actually faster than GCD, (that's bad), and that's why starfire becomes the nuke of choice.

My rotation: FF -apply at beginning of fight and then fuggetaboutit
IS - apply, and keep up as long as it doesn't intterupt starfire. If I would be casting wrath adn it's down, I'll refresh it.
MF -apply. Hope that you cast starfire enough to not need to reapply, but do so whenever it falls off.
wrath - only to proc lunar eclipse.
Starfire - once eclipse procs, and continue to cast until the coolodown on eclipse is shorter than the starfire cast time. At that point I'll refresh dots if necessary and switch back to spamming wrath. With practice (and luck) you can make a wrath proc eclipse the cast after the cooldown has expired.

Hope that helps!

I usually forget about the Trees and Starfall so I'm sure that doesn't help, luckily I have passive trinkets. :(

I use Starfire X3 after my Moonfires to add the 9 seconds from the Glyph of Starfire. If one of those three crit, then I use the Eclipse to go Wrath nuts (I have not had clipping GCD problems because I don't have enough haste yet I think). If not, then I still use Wrath and once that Eclipse procs I go Starfire crazy. I think I was getting used to it on Monday so I might be doing a little better, but I do need to use Trees and Starfall a lot more often because I probably use them once a fight (if I remember them) when I could probably use them twice or more.
